Kalkınma Planları Çerçevesinde Türkiye’de Endüstri Ürünleri Tasarımı Eğitimi

Abstract

In Turkey, planned development period have been pursued since 1960s. Today, Ninth Development Plan with the period of 2007-2013 is to be still in force. An examination on development plans show that preliminary ones haven’t prescribed a clear vision on design services Different form development plans, in the same period, local design education have been developed and diversified and produced needed labor force. In the course of time, local design education institutionalized without a pronounced national design policy and spent its limited resources to the promotion of design. Today several constitutions try to expose a national design policy by their councils, however these attempts cannot successed due to lack of state incentives and representation. This study is, firstly, an attempt to examine the development of local design education under development plans. Later, the study will be finalized with a general evaluation of growth potentials in design education as part of contemporary policy attempts.
