If more than one reference to the same author and year, distinguish between them by use of letters (a, b, ...) attached to year of publication: (Tekeli 1992 a, 30-37) and (Tekeli 1992 b, 47-53). This is valid also for the references.
  • Specify subsequent citations of the same source similarly; do not use “ibid”, “op.cit” or “loc.cit”. If the autor's name is in the text, use only year and pagination of publication in parantheses, e.g. Tekeli (1992, 29).
  • With dual authorship give both names: (İlkin ve Tekeli 1981, 61 -65). For three or more use “et. al.”, e.g. (Tekeli et. al. 1996, 101-102). Enclose within a single pair of parantheses a series of references separated by semicolons, e.g. (Ortaylı 1985, 52; Tekeli 1992, 23 - 27).
  • Do not use a footnote for any references in the text; only use a footnote if you do not want to place a note within the text. List all entries cited in the text, any items used to prepare the manuscript in a separate headed references section.

References, Footnotes and Bibliography;

  • Footnotes are not given at the bottom of the page to show references in the text; footnotes are used only for notes that are not considered appropriate to be included in the main text. All references cited in the main text and footnotes are included in the ‘Bibliography’ section to be added at the end of the article. The source that is not cited in the text is not included in the ‘References’ section.
  • When referring to other sources in the text, the author's surname, date of publication and page number (Tekeli 1992, 23-27) are given in parentheses at the appropriate places in the text. If a reference is made to another work of the same author published in the same year, it is indicated as (Tekeli 1992 a, 30-37) and (Tekeli 1992 b, 47-53). This order is also valid for the bibliography.
  • If more than one reference is made to the same source, the above-mentioned method is repeated instead of abbreviations such as ‘a.g.e.’. If the author's name is mentioned in the text, it is sufficient to state only the year of publication and the page number of the work, e.g. ‘...as Tekeli (1992, 29) says...’. If the source is written by two authors, the surnames of both authors (İlkin and Tekeli 1981, 61-65) are indicated. If the number of authors is more than two, the phrase ‘et al.’ (Tekeli et al. 1996, 101-102) is used after the first surname. If more than two sources are cited in the same place, a semicolon is placed between the names of the authors and they are given in alphabetical order (Ortaylı 1985, 52; Tekeli 1992, 23-27).
  • If the original work is not used and the same work is also published in Turkish, the Turkish title and publication information of the work is expected to be indicated separately in parentheses in the bibliography.
  • If possible, it is desirable to give the DOI numbers of the cited source in the reference list.
  • APA 6 citation method (American Psychological Association) is used asa bibliography . You can access the correct use of the bibliography from the following link: https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines
