In developed countries various studies on construction processes are done on energy, water and raw material consumptions together with their emissions to air, water and soil and their effects on environment. One of the methods to evaluate these inputs and outputs upon a scientific basis is Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). At present LCA studies are realized by softwares which are composed of databases produced by varying methods. This situation gives way to differences between studies; for interoperability they must be compatible. In this study, it is aimed to determine joint rules for existing databases of basic criteria in data collection phase with the objective of forming a base for a database regarding construction products. With this objective globally commonly used process-based building materials inventory databases are analyzed. After these joint rules are determined it is discussed whether these rules can be applied or not on aluminium profile production in Turkey. It is determined that collection of data according to internationally accepted rules are suitable. It is expected that with the determination of these rules, future studies will be compatible with as many databases as possible.
