Abstract

The paper aims to research the concept of property and related theoretical structures. To understand the concept of property; firstly “desire of possession” and its motivations as instinctive bases of property were explored; later on theoritical bases of property were analysed. According to these analyses, property has been described as a “mechanism that sets the spatial relationships”. After the theoretical reading of property, “house and home”, which are at the intersection of architecture and property, were reviewed; and then, the relationships between property and “homeowning and housing policies” were discussed. During the discussion, the main questions of the paper were how the property sets the relationships of individuals with objects, spaces and others; how the transformations of the networks of relationships change the property and what the future perspectives of the property are.
