Kamusal Tuvaletlerde Kullanıcı Deneyimini Anlamak: Bir Araştırma Yöntemi Olarak Kültür Sondaları

Abstract

Public toilets have an important part in everyday life. Conditions of these facilities dramatically affect the quality of life of the users. Their approach to public toilets is different from domestic bathrooms and they develop different ways of use in order to deal with the dirtiness. While focusing on the relationship between the perception of cleanliness and product use in public toilets with a qualitative approach, this study aims considering the usability of cultural probes as a research method in such a sensitive and private research setting. Considering public toilets as an indispensable part of daily life, the study is expected to contribute to design research and practice both in terms of approach and methodology.
